Covid 19 – How we will keep you safe:

Updated: Nov 13, 2020

As you will no doubt be aware, the world around us has changed. Suddenly there are life-threatening dangers where we would not normally expect them to be; in clinics, waiting rooms and in coming into contact with other people.

We at Hear Here will always put your health and safety first. This is why we believe seeing you at home is the safest option we can offer in these challenging times. So for now, we will not be operating any clinics, until we know it is safe to do so.

Before we come to your home:

When you contact us, we will ask you a few more questions than usual.

Do you have any Covid 19 symptoms?

  1. A new/persistent cough?

  2. Or a high temperature?

  3. Loss of taste/smell?

Are you happy to wear a mask during our visit?

If you are, we will be able to see you, and keep both you and our audiologist safe.

When we arrive:

Our audiologist will be wearing PPE, as is required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and our governing body the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA). This will include a medical grade mask, gloves and an apron, to keep you safe and avoid cross contamination from other patients. We will also supply a mask for you and anyone else you’d like to be involved in your appointment.

Because we believe safety is vital, we will also be limiting appointment numbers, so that our audiologists can change clothing between patients.

These requirements also mean that we will not we wearing anything below the elbow, no rings, no cufflinks and no shirt sleeves. So if we’re a bit less smart than usual, we hope you will understand why!

After your appointment:

Regulations state that we must dispose of all waste and used PPE in as safe a manner as possible. This means we will double-bag our waste and put it in your wheelie bin, if you have one. If you do not, we will ask that you set this aside and only put into your household waste after 72 hours.
